Today as I walked through the food court, I saw an older blind man on his hands and knees searching for a bottle he'd dropped. Lots of people walked by without noticing. A young guy stopped, picked up the bottle and handed it to him with a smile. It reminded me that caring for the people around us can be simple.
My parents visit and check in on their elderly and recently widowed neighbor, helping him care for his dog, bring him food and offer their company. It's a small gesture, but it means a lot to him.
My neighbor who is willing to watch my daughter while my husband and I work, even though it means juggling and changing his own schedule.
